..people should discard any notions of hipness or inness or coolness and simple relax and be themselves, whatever that may be. Ninety percent of immediate daily anxieties are futile worries.

Spent my evening yesterday attempting to educate little girls on why it isn’t cool to continue supporting a Youtuber who admitted to the rape of a 15 year old girl when he was 20. The victim blaming and the justifying is just melting my brain and boiling my blood!

The sheer number who still feel it is OK and don’t understand what Rape is or what consent means is just staggering. And frightening. Education on Rape/Consent REALLY needs to change. Like yesterday.

Or 20 years ago.

Hopefully I’ll have a calmer more pleasant experience tonight.

A THOUSAND TIMES YES

(Source: mysharona1987, via humansarealiens)

Part of me is like “I do not want to have children if this is the kind of shit they’re going to have to contend with” then a second part thinks “No, Fuck that, raise amazing humans that can change the world!”

Then the third part thinks “But then again you could raise a murderer. You’ve read We Need To Talk About Kevin”

Do you see my problem?!

I’m losing my mind and the will at all these girls defending statutory rapists on tumblr. “I still love you <3. Stay strong”

FUCKING NO. Are you kidding me?!

My opinion on this Jason thing. →

luullabies:

Before I say anything, I’ve seen his video, I’ve seen the reaction from his ‘friends’ and I’ve seen the video the girl made. That’s it.

Okay, that girl is fucking oh my god okay right.

Jason gave alcohol to that 15 year old girl yes
But
She drank the alcohol, so. And she didn’t say in her…

"I saw someone comment on Jasons video saying it was rape because she was 15 and he was 20. NO. OKAY. I even asked my mum about this.

Its against the law to have sex with someone underage.

Rape is when you force someone to have sex with you. So if someone is yelling no, screaming, crying, pushing you away, trying to get you to stop. Things like that, it’s rape. Obviously it was wrong for him to have sex with an underage girl, and obviously he shouldn’t have brought alcohol for her. But this happened over a year ago.”

Your mum doesn’t have a fucking clue. Being unable to consent because you are drunk/a minor = Statutory rape. The Sexual Offences Act 1956. Look it up. It is not just holding someone down and forcing them to have sex with you. It is not just saying no and fighting. If you are unable to give valid consent due to drugs or alcohol it is rape. If you are unable to consent due to be being under the of 16 you cannot consent by law it is rape. Not entirely relevant here, but If you were to sleep with someone under the condition that they used a condom and they lied and did not use a condom, technically that is a sexual offence too because the conditions upon which you agreed to were changed without your consent! Rape is very broad and you are very misinformed. It is rarely by some monster who holds you down. Its usually by someone you know who would manipulate and coerce you into something you did not want to do.

Jason is a rapist. By two of these definitions. Educate yourself (and your mother!) and do not be blinded by the 5 minute footage you see of a stranger on the internet.

Also it may have been a year ago (although other girls have proof of his behaviours from recently as two weeks ago) but for Ania and the other girls like her will more than likely be affected by this every single day.

Think.
